Undead Swordsmen - Chamone (NSFW)

I have been working on my undead (or rather Samantha's undead) and have done the front rank.





The banner reflects both our love of Hammer Horror films and the fact we totally fancy Ingrid Pitt.

Every Saturday night is Hammer Horror double bill night with crisps and dip.
Here is this Saturdays billing:




It may or may not also foreshadow a character yet to come.

Mikeal Jacsen is the leader of the undead infantry, and as you may or may not know the model is based on Michael Jackson.
We know this not only from the name, but also his hair is on fire as happened to Michael Jackson when filming a Pepsi advert.
We can also deduce this is him from the fact that in Terror of the Lichemaster he leads zombies, which is of course a nod to his Thriller video.
That and it describes him as "In death Jacsen was a great dark skeleton, long and thin with a skull that burned with an unnatural light, and from in between his huge dead teeth there issued a foul, thin shriek that few could listen to without sickening."

So there we have it, given all that I did paint mine with a skull that is whiter than those of his companions and despite it being near impossible to see, I did paint a white glove on his hand, for reasons. 

As for the shield, whilst it should be a black dragon on a red background, doing it this way helps it fit the Sylvanian motif. 





So there we go, next up the rest of them and then to base them, again following the same dead decaying theme as the other undead.

More Sylvanian Families

Following on from the Sylvanian zombies of here . I have done the second of my three undead units, some archers. I am using the simple dark red and black scheme of dread Sylvania, as was hinted on the banner of the zombies. However where the zombies are just any old peasants risen from the dead, the skeleton archers are former soldiers and as such the remains of their uniforms can be seen. I was not sure if to stick with the darker dying grass and brown fern bases as in my mind the putridness of the zombies decaying bodies helped this theme make sense, where as the skeletons are just dry bones. So whilst the zombies clearly make worse the land upon which they walk (shamble) do the skeletons? I decided yes, they are dead and animated by foul magics so they have the taint of death and decay about them, plus also the army would look odd if the bases were not all the same. Michaels Mordheim Mashup - Update

Right, work begins on the notheim stuff. Each warband needs a leader and the more dramatic the better right? Seeing as I am sticking with Warhammer feels and not going down the Hammer Horror route I have these 2 as my warband leaders. The vampire Ingrid Karnstein and hunter of the undead Piotr Von Heiligsheld and his hound Kiszen. Nothing is finished yet, Ingrid is a WIP.

Warm Ale and Mud

I am going to try a blog. I do have a website that shows my Warm Ale and Mud stuff: https://angelbarracks.co.uk/ However it does not have a comments section so I thought maybe I would give here a go and see how it pans out. So what is this Warm Ale and Mud all about? I am playing Warhammer Fantasy Battle 3rd edition and I am building the village of Heiligsheld and its surrounds. It is a homebrew village/locale set in Stirland . Once I have enough of the places modelled, buildings, scenery and the people that live there, I will begin to tell stories about the village. These will be played out as games and then published here. We will learn how the village got its name, why it is not on any Imperial maps, how Fraulein Pfiezel came to have what appears to the skull of a beastman on her door, why Otto Klept spends most of his time in the pillory, and much more.
