I have just finished the Farmhouse which took a lot of my modelling energies for a while.

So for now I will retreat into the games room and plan new things and maybe paint my elementalist for my Stirland forces.

A couple of years ago we sold our house in Bristol as we needed a bigger house so that my wife's mom could come and live with us as she is very ill.
Long story short, we are a lot worse off financially but her mom is better and we have a bigger house, big enough for a games room!!

For reasons, we are unable to go out much, no meals, cinemas or the stuff that most people do so we are trying to make the games room have a certain vibe.

On the ceiling is a flag that I got the sizing wrong on, so rather than bin it it goes there!!

The table gets pulled out for games and on the ceiling is a canvas that I stapled a static grass mat to.
It is light enough that it hangs there out of the way nicely and it has been reinforced with foamcard so it is sturdy enough to play on.

The MDF boards have matts attached to them on the other side.





Odds and sods, I am very pleased with my 19th century German beer stein.
And yes I do like my Kraken rum.

My wife and I are big fans of Hammer Horror films and we watch them every Saturday night with crisps/dip and booze.

I have been collecting signed photos of some of the Hammer Horror actors, here is one from Valerie Leon and Caroline Munro even popped in a really nice personalised card which was super amazing.




Here is Madeline Smith from Vampire Lovers, a great Hammer Horror film and part of the Karnstein Vampire trilogy and almost certainly where GW got their name Carstein from. 




Finally the media shelves.
This is where I keep my favourite books and DVDs.

    Looking good. Interesting assortment of art and ornaments plus plenty of room for extra terrain and painted figure shelves.

    The ponies aren’t yours, I assume. What’s in your storage system, a world class bits box?

      Ah, the storage boxes are full of 10mm stuff.

      My 25mm bits box is very small and poor, not been collecting it long enough.

    That's a excellent room! I'm a tad jealous. I have a hobby space but it's much smaller than our old house so everything is crammed in and no space to display stuff.

      It is, I am under no illusion around how lucky I am to have such a haven.

The Honesty Cart

I recently posted about the update to Fraulein Pfiezel’s cottage. LINK: This update was required as you may recall, due to me making comments about the cottage but not having modelled it accurately, hence the updates. Now, at the start of the description I mentioned how you can find your way to the cottage via a path that is marked with an abandoned cart. I decided that whilst I wait the last bits I need to finish the farm   (LINK)     I may as well make the cart. So here it is:   In order to secure the services of Fraulein Pfiezel, you look up the relevant payments on the sign, and once you have left the payments you ring the bell and go away. Depending on the instructions noted on said sign, you then return the next day or the day after at the same time as you rang the bell, and your goods will be ready for you. It is a simple system and means the old lady does not have to endure conversation with the villagers.

Armbrustschutzen - Update

I posted early on about my unit of Armbrustschutzen HERE . Though from my post about my master plans HERE , you will see that the goal is to have 10 not 5 of the chaps. At long last I have finished the final 5: This now means that 3 of my total of 5 units are complete and that 25 of the 47 models needed are painted. Over half way which is great!! Feels like it has taken an age. I suspect my 5 Fleglers will be easy to paint but I am still undecided if they are followers of Morr, Gadd or Taal.  I am leaning toward Morr, but as with the Holzfaller, they will not be part of the garrison. However whilst the Holzfaller are still villagers who just happen to take up arms against attackers, the Fleglers will be passing by around the time of the grand final battle.  Maybe guided by their deity as needed? Anyway, they are done and the spiel is on the website proper as normal.

Warm Ale and Mud

I am going to try a blog. I do have a website that shows my Warm Ale and Mud stuff: https://angelbarracks.co.uk/ However it does not have a comments section so I thought maybe I would give here a go and see how it pans out. So what is this Warm Ale and Mud all about? I am playing Warhammer Fantasy Battle 3rd edition and I am building the village of Heiligsheld and its surrounds. It is a homebrew village/locale set in Stirland . Once I have enough of the places modelled, buildings, scenery and the people that live there, I will begin to tell stories about the village. These will be played out as games and then published here. We will learn how the village got its name, why it is not on any Imperial maps, how Fraulein Pfiezel came to have what appears to the skull of a beastman on her door, why Otto Klept spends most of his time in the pillory, and much more.
