Stefan Is Dead, Long Live Stefan

As I mentioned HERE I used to play WFB 3rd edition with 10mm and I had a sort of mascot that had no purpose other than to amuse us.

My old 10mm games were less narrative and story driven so I never did get round to writing anything about who Stefan was or why he was found lingering on battlefields drinking whilst perched on his barrel.

I have now finished my 25mm version, and I am still no wiser as to who he is.
I need to remedy that, I am thinking an agent of Ranald maybe, I really am not sure.

It is not my finest work but it will do, oh and I decided to base him after much pondering as this way he is a bit more stable and can double as a unit filler should the need ever arise.

    Love the concept and how you integrate every mini in the project with additional narrative details that enlarge your world with each entry you post. Congratulations.

      Thank you!!

      I find that games are easy to write if the world is rich in detail.
      In fact if the detail is written carefully and thoughtfully the games write themselves.

      Talking of which I must play game number two soon.

Warm Ale and Mud

I am going to try a blog. I do have a website that shows my Warm Ale and Mud stuff: https://angelbarracks.co.uk/ However it does not have a comments section so I thought maybe I would give here a go and see how it pans out. So what is this Warm Ale and Mud all about? I am playing Warhammer Fantasy Battle 3rd edition and I am building the village of Heiligsheld and its surrounds. It is a homebrew village/locale set in Stirland . Once I have enough of the places modelled, buildings, scenery and the people that live there, I will begin to tell stories about the village. These will be played out as games and then published here. We will learn how the village got its name, why it is not on any Imperial maps, how Fraulein Pfiezel came to have what appears to the skull of a beastman on her door, why Otto Klept spends most of his time in the pillory, and much more. Johanne Pertwee Had A Farm...

So begins the farmhouse build. I am basing it on the Townscape one. It will be close enough for people to recognise it, but not a faithful reconstruction. Balsa wood for the timber and foamed PVC for the shell/substructure. Superglue being my weapon of choice. Fiddly bits. Then rapid dry Polyfilla for the rendering. It gets messy so I find I need to scrap it off and score the balsa where the filler has tried to make it look a bit more wooden again. Some scrap plasticard for the roof substructure so I have something to rest the roof tiles on. I think the Townscape farm has tiles but I am going a bit poorer what with it being Stirland and am doing wooden shingles again. However the balsa I have is too thick for shingles as it is, so once cut into strips I then carefully slice them down their length to make them about half the thickness. Then after quite a while and just under 400 tiles later... Next up a few extra bits and bobs and then to prime it.
