The Final Unit of Undead is Complete!!
VERZERRTE HELLEBLITZEN

In life these helblitzen served the Countess Mircalla Karnstein of Sylvania.
The Countess was suspected of, tried, and found guilty of Vampirism.
Having outlived her husband many years prior to her trial, her noble family line died with her.
Now resurrected and ready to fight once again in her name, these restless dead march forward without fear.
Led by Ranlac The Black they march into battle driven on by the indomitable beat of the manskin drum, holding aloft the banner which proclaims the hour of blood is nigh.
The banner is steeped in the darkest of black magic, its unholy purpose known only to the Countess of Blood herself, and Heinrich Kemmler, the puppet general of her undead legions.

It is said the banner was created by the Countess herself as part of a curse on the people of Stirland who tried and found her guilty of vampirism.
Those that were there as she was burnt witnessed her proclamation that she would return and take revenge on the descendants of those that wronged her.
Some swear that when the banner was first crafted the hourglass was full to the top…

Ranlac The Black.
Once a vampire himself, the get of Mircalla Karnstein, he died at the battle of Hel Fenn.
Alas the victors failed to dispatch him properly and he lingered in unlife until recently, when Heinrich Kemmler under the guidance of the Countess brought him back once again.
Insanely cool, I really get the creeps, fantastic work!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, though I really should practice lettering on my banners.
DeleteGood work, as per usual, but banners and musicians on the flanks still doesn't look right to me. Do me a favour and experiment with having your command groups in the centre of the front rank?
ReplyDeleteThanks, ha ha never!!
DeleteI don't play tactically, but if I did then having them on the ends would be better.
You get the bonus for them being in the front rank wherever they are, but if they are on the ends and facing a narrower unit, then there is the chance they will not be in base to base contact and thus can't be killed during melee.
Though with all my units being 5 wide, this is not a factor, though should I ever face a 4 model wide unit...
:D
That's a great looking unit. I really like the hourglass on the banner you got it looking just right.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI do quite like the banner hour glass, most of the shield ones too, but I gave up trying to make them all the same size.
