In life these swordsmen served the Countess Mircalla Karnstein of Sylvania.

The Countess was suspected of, tried, and found guilty of Vampirism.
Having outlived her husband many years prior to her trial, her noble family line died with her.

Now resurrected and ready to fight once again in her name, these restless dead march forward without fear.

They carry a banner rumoured to be imbued with the soul of Mircalla.
It is said that she sees through it from beyond, into the world of the living, and when her gaze rests upon the descendants of those who set her upon the funeral pyre, a terrible black flame erupts upon them and they suffer as she did in her final moments alive.

(it is a magical banner that casts fireballs)

The banner is based upon the super sexy Ingrid Pitt as she appeared in a Hammer Horror film, though the lore around her as touched upon here is based upon her roles as seen in both Countess Blood and Vampire Lovers.

In fact there is a hint here and on my website as to what may come to pass.

More Sylvanian Families

Following on from the Sylvanian zombies of here . I have done the second of my three undead units, some archers. I am using the simple dark red and black scheme of dread Sylvania, as was hinted on the banner of the zombies. However where the zombies are just any old peasants risen from the dead, the skeleton archers are former soldiers and as such the remains of their uniforms can be seen. I was not sure if to stick with the darker dying grass and brown fern bases as in my mind the putridness of the zombies decaying bodies helped this theme make sense, where as the skeletons are just dry bones. So whilst the zombies clearly make worse the land upon which they walk (shamble) do the skeletons? I decided yes, they are dead and animated by foul magics so they have the taint of death and decay about them, plus also the army would look odd if the bases were not all the same. Michaels Mordheim Mashup - Update

Right, work begins on the notheim stuff. Each warband needs a leader and the more dramatic the better right? Seeing as I am sticking with Warhammer feels and not going down the Hammer Horror route I have these 2 as my warband leaders. The vampire Ingrid Karnstein and hunter of the undead Piotr Von Heiligsheld and his hound Kiszen. Nothing is finished yet, Ingrid is a WIP.

Warm Ale and Mud

I am going to try a blog. I do have a website that shows my Warm Ale and Mud stuff: https://angelbarracks.co.uk/ However it does not have a comments section so I thought maybe I would give here a go and see how it pans out. So what is this Warm Ale and Mud all about? I am playing Warhammer Fantasy Battle 3rd edition and I am building the village of Heiligsheld and its surrounds. It is a homebrew village/locale set in Stirland . Once I have enough of the places modelled, buildings, scenery and the people that live there, I will begin to tell stories about the village. These will be played out as games and then published here. We will learn how the village got its name, why it is not on any Imperial maps, how Fraulein Pfiezel came to have what appears to the skull of a beastman on her door, why Otto Klept spends most of his time in the pillory, and much more.
