2025 Round Up

Over on the oldhammer forum there was a topic about what you did in 2025.


Here is a piccy of what I did.





2 buildings, 1 field.

1 Troll

1 villager

10 skeleton archers
15 skeleton swordsmen
​15 skeleton halberdiers
20 zombies
3 ghouls
1 Krell
1 The Lichemaster

5 Fleglers
10 Armbrustschutzen
15 Helblitzen
1 Count
1 Elementalist


99 dudes and 3 terrain pieces.


Resolutions/plans for me are to try and get as much of the village as possible done and then maybe start 1 of 2 special projects...

I had hoped to have done all of that 12 months prior, but I had neglected to factor terrain and other stuff.
But all in all I am happy.

That is about 2 figures a week which I am happy with, of course some weeks saw nothing done at all, and some weeks saw much more than 2.

But I guess 30 or so villagers for 2026 and 10 buildings should be do-able?

    Very inspiring Mike. I can not even imagine painting 2 models per week. I do not manage to paint a mini every 2 weeks. Please keep doing what you do, and pushing me to keep painting.

      It is not always 2 per week.

      :D

      Sometimes a month goes by with zero painting, sometimes I just base coat.

      The summer is when I paint most as I like the warm and the sun, sometimes in hot weather I can paint 10 a week, I am energised by the sun and I can stay up late painting.

More Sylvanian Families

Following on from the Sylvanian zombies of here . I have done the second of my three undead units, some archers. I am using the simple dark red and black scheme of dread Sylvania, as was hinted on the banner of the zombies. However where the zombies are just any old peasants risen from the dead, the skeleton archers are former soldiers and as such the remains of their uniforms can be seen. I was not sure if to stick with the darker dying grass and brown fern bases as in my mind the putridness of the zombies decaying bodies helped this theme make sense, where as the skeletons are just dry bones. So whilst the zombies clearly make worse the land upon which they walk (shamble) do the skeletons? I decided yes, they are dead and animated by foul magics so they have the taint of death and decay about them, plus also the army would look odd if the bases were not all the same. Michaels Mordheim Mashup - Update

Right, work begins on the notheim stuff. Each warband needs a leader and the more dramatic the better right? Seeing as I am sticking with Warhammer feels and not going down the Hammer Horror route I have these 2 as my warband leaders. The vampire Ingrid Karnstein and hunter of the undead Piotr Von Heiligsheld and his hound Kiszen. Nothing is finished yet, Ingrid is a WIP.

Armbrustschutzen - Update

I posted early on about my unit of Armbrustschutzen HERE . Though from my post about my master plans HERE , you will see that the goal is to have 10 not 5 of the chaps. At long last I have finished the final 5: This now means that 3 of my total of 5 units are complete and that 25 of the 47 models needed are painted. Over half way which is great!! Feels like it has taken an age. I suspect my 5 Fleglers will be easy to paint but I am still undecided if they are followers of Morr, Gadd or Taal.  I am leaning toward Morr, but as with the Holzfaller, they will not be part of the garrison. However whilst the Holzfaller are still villagers who just happen to take up arms against attackers, the Fleglers will be passing by around the time of the grand final battle.  Maybe guided by their deity as needed? Anyway, they are done and the spiel is on the website proper as normal.
